Narrative:

On our way from dca to mia, the 'B' system hydraulic low level light came on. The 'B' system pressure and quantity gauges were normal. About 3 mins later, the 'B' pressure gauge went to zero, the 'B' pump low pressure lights, and 'B' system flight control lights came on. 'A' system quantity was at 2.5. Brake accumulator and pneumatic, the 'B' system quantity gauge never read less than full at any time. Were normal. We ran the required checklist, and descended to FL280. ATC was advised and flight attendant notified. We landed on runway 9R. The landing was uneventful and with good brake pressure/brake interconnect open and pneumatic available. We taxied to the gate. Great job by my crew. Flight engineer proved himself again to be a plus material to company. What a great way to end probation.
