Narrative:

During climb out through FL240, ZLA instructed us to turn left to heading 275 degrees. Our heading was 300 degrees. We told ZLA we were unable to comply with turn instruction as there was WX in that direction. The controller then told us to descend to FL230. At that time we stopped our climb and descended to FL230. The controller advised us to contact the center on the landline as a loss of separation possibly occurred. Supplemental information from acn 368704: apparently there was another aircraft to our right descending. After the controller found out we couldn't turn to the left, I wonder why this aircraft was not turned.

Title: A B737 CLBING OUT OF LAS WAS GIVEN A TURN FOR TFC AND REFUSED THE CLRNC DUE TO A WX CELL. THE ARTCC RADAR CTLR THEN DSNDED THE B737 AND ADVISED HIM TO CALL THE ARTCC DUE TO A POSSIBLE LOSS OF SEPARATION.

Narrative: DURING CLBOUT THROUGH FL240, ZLA INSTRUCTED US TO TURN L TO HDG 275 DEGS. OUR HDG WAS 300 DEGS. WE TOLD ZLA WE WERE UNABLE TO COMPLY WITH TURN INSTRUCTION AS THERE WAS WX IN THAT DIRECTION. THE CTLR THEN TOLD US TO DSND TO FL230. AT THAT TIME WE STOPPED OUR CLB AND DSNDED TO FL230. THE CTLR ADVISED US TO CONTACT THE CTR ON THE LANDLINE AS A LOSS OF SEPARATION POSSIBLY OCCURRED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 368704: APPARENTLY THERE WAS ANOTHER ACFT TO OUR R DSNDING. AFTER THE CTLR FOUND OUT WE COULDN'T TURN TO THE L, I WONDER WHY THIS ACFT WAS NOT TURNED.
