Narrative:

When getting ready to enter landing pattern at WI67 -- engine began surging. Fuel tanks indicated: left, less than 1/4. Right, 1/4. Flight planning estimated remaining fuel should be about 30 mins at landing. Precautionary landing was made in farm field. Fuel was added (10 gals). A preflight and run-up was performed in accordance with operators manual. A normal takeoff (field about 2500 ft square) was performed and aircraft flown to WI67. Another inspection showed nothing wrong. There were no injuries, no aircraft damage and no property damage. Incident was discussed with fond du lac county official. He stated there were no complaints concerning landing on private property after he talked to the land owner. Aircraft was test flown by owner and found normal.

Title: C150 PLT MAKES PRECAUTIONARY LNDG WHEN ENG SURGE IS NOTED.

Narrative: WHEN GETTING READY TO ENTER LNDG PATTERN AT WI67 -- ENG BEGAN SURGING. FUEL TANKS INDICATED: L, LESS THAN 1/4. R, 1/4. FLT PLANNING ESTIMATED REMAINING FUEL SHOULD BE ABOUT 30 MINS AT LNDG. PRECAUTIONARY LNDG WAS MADE IN FARM FIELD. FUEL WAS ADDED (10 GALS). A PREFLT AND RUN-UP WAS PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH OPERATORS MANUAL. A NORMAL TKOF (FIELD ABOUT 2500 FT SQUARE) WAS PERFORMED AND ACFT FLOWN TO WI67. ANOTHER INSPECTION SHOWED NOTHING WRONG. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, NO ACFT DAMAGE AND NO PROPERTY DAMAGE. INCIDENT WAS DISCUSSED WITH FOND DU LAC COUNTY OFFICIAL. HE STATED THERE WERE NO COMPLAINTS CONCERNING LNDG ON PVT PROPERTY AFTER HE TALKED TO THE LAND OWNER. ACFT WAS TEST FLOWN BY OWNER AND FOUND NORMAL.
