Narrative:

Student captain flew a stabilized VOR runway 13L (canarsie) approach to jfk. Conditions were VFR, with a right crosswind on final. The approach was made following a B747. The approach was normal and stabilized. After crossing threshold, a high flare coupled with right wing low to counter drift caused the wingtip to strike the runway. Neither pilots nor passenger were aware of any contact being made. Subsequent rollout and taxi to gate -- normal. Not until maintenance advised us were pilots aware of damage.
