Narrative:

After landing on runway 24L at lax international I was taxiing to the gate. I was told to hold on taxiway B at taxiway P. After the opposing traffic cleared, I was told to continue taxiing. As I applied power and started to move, a light twin crossed in front of me from right to left. I had to reapply brakes to avoid conflict. I advised the controller of the problem, and received the reply, 'roger.' I don't believe the light twin was on ground control since I did not hear any contact between the aircraft and ground control.
