This problem has been reported many times by multiple aircraft. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated the primary and back up equipment for the local controller frequency was taken OTS 4 days ago and that a VHF multi radio is in use. Reporter said they are not getting assistance with the problem and that the airport authority/authorized is responsible for the equipment. Reporter indicated they (the tower) report the outage on the daily watch checklist which is sent to the airport authority/authorized.
