Narrative:

Slc was landing south. We had the correct ATIS and we knew that slc was landing south. We misread the arrival and missed the turn at divet. This arrival or STAR is not very clear. There are no instructions just a box that says landing south then another box landing south expect ILS DME runway 16L. The instructions were ambiguous to us. The approach controller then turned us onto the ILS after telling us we missed the turn.
