Location: ewr. During preflight met FAA inspector who was performing a ramp check. Showed license and medical and was then told that 2 flight attendants were missing revision 41 from their manuals, and I was out of compliance with far regulations. Would I send the purser to the office to pick up the revisions? This was accomplished and the flight departed on time. Is it a new procedure for capts to check flight attendant manuals?

Narrative: LOCATION: EWR. DURING PREFLT MET FAA INSPECTOR WHO WAS PERFORMING A RAMP CHK. SHOWED LICENSE AND MEDICAL AND WAS THEN TOLD THAT 2 FLT ATTENDANTS WERE MISSING REVISION 41 FROM THEIR MANUALS, AND I WAS OUT OF COMPLIANCE WITH FAR REGS. WOULD I SEND THE PURSER TO THE OFFICE TO PICK UP THE REVISIONS? THIS WAS ACCOMPLISHED AND THE FLT DEPARTED ON TIME. IS IT A NEW PROC FOR CAPTS TO CHK FLT ATTENDANT MANUALS?
