Narrative:

Given a crossing restr on an unfamiliar routing. Was given cross 40 DME from clt at 5000 ft. Was given the restr 80 DME out. We were unpressurized for the flight. Greer asked DME from clt. We were 41 DME at 7000 ft. Were given a left 360 degree turn to lose altitude. Crossed 40 DME out of clt at 5000 ft. Possibly, we could have been inquired by greer why we were not descending to meet the restr. Factors: given restr at 80 DME, unfamiliar route, unpressurized aircraft (normally pressurized). No conflict aware. We put the restr in the altitude alert, then got busy with the unfamiliar route and forgot.

Title: FLC OF AN LTT FAILED TO DSND TO MEET A XING RESTR DURING DSCNT FOR APCH DUE TO DISTR OF UNFAMILIAR RTE.

Narrative: GIVEN A XING RESTR ON AN UNFAMILIAR ROUTING. WAS GIVEN CROSS 40 DME FROM CLT AT 5000 FT. WAS GIVEN THE RESTR 80 DME OUT. WE WERE UNPRESSURIZED FOR THE FLT. GREER ASKED DME FROM CLT. WE WERE 41 DME AT 7000 FT. WERE GIVEN A L 360 DEG TURN TO LOSE ALT. CROSSED 40 DME OUT OF CLT AT 5000 FT. POSSIBLY, WE COULD HAVE BEEN INQUIRED BY GREER WHY WE WERE NOT DSNDING TO MEET THE RESTR. FACTORS: GIVEN RESTR AT 80 DME, UNFAMILIAR RTE, UNPRESSURIZED ACFT (NORMALLY PRESSURIZED). NO CONFLICT AWARE. WE PUT THE RESTR IN THE ALT ALERT, THEN GOT BUSY WITH THE UNFAMILIAR RTE AND FORGOT.
