Narrative:

After takeoff, #1 engine fire light illuminated and fire bell sounded. Bell silenced, emergency declared and aircraft cleaned up at 1000 ft AGL. Throttle retarded to idle and light extinguished. Fire system tested and was normal. Engine indications at idle appeared normal. Expected a possible pneumatic duct leak. Engine remained at idle and fuel dumping commenced at 3000 ft MSL (2300 ft AGL) per ATC permission, vectors out of airport traffic area received during dumping. Engine inoperative follow-up checklists all completed through approach. When aircraft weight was reduced to maximum landing weight a vector to final was taken. On final engine precautionary shutdown checklist accomplished. Landing and rollout normal. Crash rescue inspected aircraft and crew determined it was possible to taxi to gate on remaining engines. Normal shutdown checklists accomplished. Upon further inspection by dfw maintenance, #1 engine appeared to have suffered a possible turbine blade failure. Later fuse plug on outboard left main tire blew and a tire went flat. All emergency/abnormal checklists and procedures were accomplished per FARS and company manuals and policy.
