Narrative:
Aircraft was allowed to climb 400 ft above initial altitude of 1500 ft as required by SID. Departure procedure is somewhat non standard for a mid-western pilot -- initial climb rate encouraged for noise abatement followed by lower than normal level off. Altitude deviation was momentary -- (discovered by pilot and corrected). Do not believe actual conflict occurred. Deviation noted by ATC followed by an immediate further climb instruction. Increased altitude control and diligence required -- especially in and out of ordinary sits.
