Narrative:

Reviewed noise abatement approach procedures to lax which states that between XA00-XG00 all aircraft will approach from the west. Further it states that lndgs will be made on runway 7L and runway 6R, page 10-4 commercial. Thus we briefed the approach to runway 7L because our facility is on the south side of the complex and at this early hour of the morning there should be little conflicting traffic. We were assigned a heading of 120 degrees after complying with the moorpark 3 arrival for vectors. Then we were given a turn to 090 degrees and cleared to intercept the runway 7L ILS we rogered clearance to runway 7L ILS. After establishing ourselves on the localizer for runway 7L at 2000 ft the controller came up and said that we were a half mi south of course. We stated that we were showing ourselves on the localizer. Then the controller stated that we were to be on the runway 6L localizer, ILS approach we corrected to the runway 6L ILS and landed uneventfully. None of the 3 of us ever heard the clearance for runway 6L prior to the half mi south call. Further the first officer repeated back clrncs to runway 7L up to that point.
