Narrative:

On descent into the atl terminal area, several different heading, altitude and airspeed changes were assigned. The last assigned altitude was 12000 ft. At 11600 ft, first officer called '12000 ft' and captain climbed aircraft back to 12000 ft. Captain stated he got 11000 ft in his mind and failed to xchk.
