Narrative:
We were being radar vectored to an ILS runway 35R with clearance to 4000 ft. I descended through 4000 ft by about 250 to 300 ft. ATC said maintain 4000 ft. That was the only reference to our altitude. I can't explain why this happened. I believe in our altitude setting procedures and we were using them at the time. I just assumed that we still had 1000 ft to go.

Narrative: WE WERE BEING RADAR VECTORED TO AN ILS RWY 35R WITH CLRNC TO 4000 FT. I DSNDED THROUGH 4000 FT BY ABOUT 250 TO 300 FT. ATC SAID MAINTAIN 4000 FT. THAT WAS THE ONLY REF TO OUR ALT. I CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY THIS HAPPENED. I BELIEVE IN OUR ALT SETTING PROCS AND WE WERE USING THEM AT THE TIME. I JUST ASSUMED THAT WE STILL HAD 1000 FT TO GO.
