Narrative:

Altimeter malfunction. Location: dfw, 127-40. Autoplt leveled aircraft approximately 150 ft high, as indicated on center altimeter. ATC controller subsequently said he showed us 300 ft below indicated altitude. Altimeter barometric settings were correct. Controller said there was no conflict. Altimeter problem was written up in aircraft logbook.

Title: ATC ADVISED FLC OF AN MD80 THAT THE ALTIMETER READOUT OF MODE C SHOWED 300 FT LOW. AUTOPLT LEVELED ACFT 150 FT HIGHER THAN ALTIMETER SHOWED. ALTIMETER SYS WAS WRITTEN UP FOR MAINT DISPOSITION.
