Narrative:

We were receiving parking guidance from ground marshallers. As it is not possible to view the wingtip from the cockpit, we rely on the marshallers to give proper guidance to avoid ground obstructions. As we were given a hard right turn command, and began our turn, the 'wing walker' gave the 'stop' command. The left wingtip had contacted a blast fence. This would be a difficult situation to prevent from the cockpit, aside from just stopping the aircraft and refusing to follow the signals given by ground marshallers. When it gets that close, the aircraft should be stopped and parking re-evaluated.
