TRACON radar blinked twice and then went out for 3-5 mins. Controllers had partial recovery of map and data tags and used the data tags to vector the aircraft until the radar was restored.

Narrative:
Complete loss of radar for 3-5 mins. Partial recovery of map and ARTS tags. Controllers were vectoring using the ARTS tags. I did not observe any primary or secondary radar returns. As of this writing, the cause is unknown to me. The scopes blinked out earlier for 1 second -- twice before the loss.
