Narrative:

ZDC instructed us to enter holding at gared intersection. Pxt 046 degree radial 30 DME to hold southwest with left turns. We were on the airway so this was a direct entry. The wind on the omega indicated 280/90. We were cleared to fly 15 mi legs. On the turn to the inbound radial, the airplane started to pass through the holding radial. We were turning further to the north to get back on the radial when ZDC informed us we were in the restr airspace which was active. Gared intersection is only depicted on the arrival, warrd 5. Gared is not on the high chart and the high chart has the restr areas designated but not the intersection. In addition, on the warrd 5 arrival there is no printed hold for gared on the arrival, perhaps due to its close proximity to the restr areas.

Title: B727 FLC ALLOWED ACFT TO DRIFT OVER THE HOLDING RADIAL ON THE FIRST TURN INBOUND. THEY WERE AWARE OF THE WINDS ALOFT. THERE IS NO MENTION WHETHER THEY APPLIED DOUBLE DRIFT WHILE ON THE OUTBOUND LEG.

Narrative: ZDC INSTRUCTED US TO ENTER HOLDING AT GARED INTXN. PXT 046 DEG RADIAL 30 DME TO HOLD SW WITH L TURNS. WE WERE ON THE AIRWAY SO THIS WAS A DIRECT ENTRY. THE WIND ON THE OMEGA INDICATED 280/90. WE WERE CLRED TO FLY 15 MI LEGS. ON THE TURN TO THE INBOUND RADIAL, THE AIRPLANE STARTED TO PASS THROUGH THE HOLDING RADIAL. WE WERE TURNING FURTHER TO THE N TO GET BACK ON THE RADIAL WHEN ZDC INFORMED US WE WERE IN THE RESTR AIRSPACE WHICH WAS ACTIVE. GARED INTXN IS ONLY DEPICTED ON THE ARR, WARRD 5. GARED IS NOT ON THE HIGH CHART AND THE HIGH CHART HAS THE RESTR AREAS DESIGNATED BUT NOT THE INTXN. IN ADDITION, ON THE WARRD 5 ARR THERE IS NO PRINTED HOLD FOR GARED ON THE ARR, PERHAPS DUE TO ITS CLOSE PROX TO THE RESTR AREAS.
