Narrative:

In sum: after job completion and before I had time to cleanup work area I was sent to help air carrier abc, a contract carrier. We were experiencing a very heavy workload. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: after completion of the job and when closing up cowling the cowling latch tool was left in the #3 engine reverser sleeve. We were assigned to a 'hot' job at another air carrier and left immediately. We initiated no paperwork because we did not remember placing the tool in the reverser sleeve. The tool was discovered on a preflight check and recovered prior to flight.
