Narrative:

While climbing off of runway 27L at phl on the phl 6 departure, we climbed through our final altitude of 4000 ft to 4600 ft before the controller requested us to maintain 4000 ft. We were given a clearance of as filed, phl 6 departure, 4000 ft, squawk XXXX. The phl 6 states to climb to 5000 ft or assigned lower altitude. We had set 5000 in the altitude selector by accident and did not catch it. A greater situational awareness and more care on our part would have solved the problem.
