Narrative:

ATC facility: ZMA. Location: vrb 162/70. We were cleared to descend to 16000 ft. We leveled off using the autoplt, however the autoplt trim did not keep up with the airplane and the altitude hold did not maintain altitude. We descended 400 ft before we realized it. We disconnected the autoplt and recovered to 16000 ft. We descended to 15500 ft before recovering. The controller made no mention of the incident. Supplemental information from acn 349322: apparently autoplt was unable to keep up with changing airspeed required and allowed aircraft to descend.
