Narrative:

Approach control expected us to cross 'sayge' intersection at FL190, but center had not given us the restr to cross 'sayge' at that altitude. Our initial clearance for the arrival included clearance to cross 'sayge' at FL190 and 280 KTS. Then passing about FL280, we were reclred to slow to 280 KTS now, then descend to FL240. Then as we approached 47 DME (fcf VOR) we were cleared to FL190. (Sayge is 47 DME). Remainder of approach normal. We learned of the problem when approach control asked us to phone them after landing. On the phone they asked why we were above FL190 at 'sayge', so we explained and they mentioned their expectation. There appears to be a problem in coordination between center and approach control.

Title: MLG ACFT. ATC FLC MISCOM ON ALT XING. CTR CTLR HAD NOT CLRED FLC TO RESTR ALT AS WAS EXPECTED BY APCH CTLR. WHEN CHANGING FREQ TO APCH CTLR, FLC WAS QUESTIONED WHY THEY HAD NOT CROSSED THE FIX AT FL190 AND HAD FLC CONTACT THEM AFTER LNDG.

Narrative: APCH CTL EXPECTED US TO CROSS 'SAYGE' INTXN AT FL190, BUT CTR HAD NOT GIVEN US THE RESTR TO CROSS 'SAYGE' AT THAT ALT. OUR INITIAL CLRNC FOR THE ARR INCLUDED CLRNC TO CROSS 'SAYGE' AT FL190 AND 280 KTS. THEN PASSING ABOUT FL280, WE WERE RECLRED TO SLOW TO 280 KTS NOW, THEN DSND TO FL240. THEN AS WE APCHED 47 DME (FCF VOR) WE WERE CLRED TO FL190. (SAYGE IS 47 DME). REMAINDER OF APCH NORMAL. WE LEARNED OF THE PROB WHEN APCH CTL ASKED US TO PHONE THEM AFTER LNDG. ON THE PHONE THEY ASKED WHY WE WERE ABOVE FL190 AT 'SAYGE', SO WE EXPLAINED AND THEY MENTIONED THEIR EXPECTATION. THERE APPEARS TO BE A PROB IN COORD BTWN CTR AND APCH CTL.
