Narrative:

Flight was to depart dfw to msp at XA23Z. Because of a mechanical delay we departed the gate at XC06Z and were off at XC43Z. When we contacted departure control they had no record of us. We had a pre departure clearance clearance from ACARS that we got just before gate departure. After much discussion with departure control and ZFW we finally got our flight plan back in the system. Apparently our flight plan timed out at XC23Z, between our out and off event. Is it our responsibility to keep it updated or the company's?
