Narrative:

Upon getting ready to push, I told the ground crew we were calling for the push. As we received the cabin ready report and the first officer told me we were cleared to push the plane, the aircraft moved slightly followed by a bang. The ground crew told me we had a problem. The nose gear doors had fallen open and the tow bar had broken a pin. I had not yet told the push crew that the brakes were released. Nevertheless, the push did not seem to be abrupt or energetic.
