Narrative:

Radar vectors to runway 31R at jfk, 330 degree heading. Intercept was given too late to catch the localizer. Approach gave vector further to 300 degree to intercept. Autoplt captured localizer and turned further left of course by 30 degrees. Captain turned off autoplt and hand flew back to localizer. By this time, corrections needed were large and off course but correcting. Altitude high on GS but correcting smoothly. Had ground contact and ADF bearing with localizer and GS correcting and had ground contact with lead in lights. First officer was uncomfortable and stated go around. With ground and lead in lights, I felt comfortable and landed. High sink at 1500 ft corrected before 1300 ft and localizer and GS out of limits prompted first officer to state go around. Due to visibility, contact I continued. First officer stated after landing his expectation that I should honor his judgement of the go around. After discussing it with him, and in retrospect, I agree. In the future, if any crew member is uncomfortable with any approach I will honor that judgement and do the missed. No matter what my opinion if my crew is not with me, I don't have a crew. No pilot flies alone. My copilot was right.

Title: DC10 MAKES LNDG FROM UNSTABILIZED APCH.

Narrative: RADAR VECTORS TO RWY 31R AT JFK, 330 DEG HDG. INTERCEPT WAS GIVEN TOO LATE TO CATCH THE LOC. APCH GAVE VECTOR FURTHER TO 300 DEG TO INTERCEPT. AUTOPLT CAPTURED LOC AND TURNED FURTHER L OF COURSE BY 30 DEGS. CAPT TURNED OFF AUTOPLT AND HAND FLEW BACK TO LOC. BY THIS TIME, CORRECTIONS NEEDED WERE LARGE AND OFF COURSE BUT CORRECTING. ALT HIGH ON GS BUT CORRECTING SMOOTHLY. HAD GND CONTACT AND ADF BEARING WITH LOC AND GS CORRECTING AND HAD GND CONTACT WITH LEAD IN LIGHTS. FO WAS UNCOMFORTABLE AND STATED GAR. WITH GND AND LEAD IN LIGHTS, I FELT COMFORTABLE AND LANDED. HIGH SINK AT 1500 FT CORRECTED BEFORE 1300 FT AND LOC AND GS OUT OF LIMITS PROMPTED FO TO STATE GAR. DUE TO VISIBILITY, CONTACT I CONTINUED. FO STATED AFTER LNDG HIS EXPECTATION THAT I SHOULD HONOR HIS JUDGEMENT OF THE GAR. AFTER DISCUSSING IT WITH HIM, AND IN RETROSPECT, I AGREE. IN THE FUTURE, IF ANY CREW MEMBER IS UNCOMFORTABLE WITH ANY APCH I WILL HONOR THAT JUDGEMENT AND DO THE MISSED. NO MATTER WHAT MY OPINION IF MY CREW IS NOT WITH ME, I DON'T HAVE A CREW. NO PLT FLIES ALONE. MY COPLT WAS RIGHT.
