Narrative:

Preparing to depart tex, held for a C150, then positioned and hold on runway 27. A hawker jet crew called for winds. Announced they would be straight in for runway 9. I made the assumption they were 10 mi or so out. Started my takeoff roll and saw smoke from their engines on 3 mi final. I announced I would offset right of centerline, no reply from hawker. The hawker continued to a landing. I should have examined the final approach area closer before departing and not made an assumption about the position of the hawker.
