Narrative:
A cap was not installed per maintenance manual for a high oil consumption check on the #2 engine starter drive seal drain of aircraft that was deferred because no parts in pdx. A drain line was installed to a drain can.

Title: A DC10-10 DISPATCHED WITH IMPROPER INTERIM REPAIR TO #2 ENG STARTER DRIVE SEAL DRAIN.
Narrative: A CAP WAS NOT INSTALLED PER MAINT MANUAL FOR A HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION CHK ON THE #2 ENG STARTER DRIVE SEAL DRAIN OF ACFT THAT WAS DEFERRED BECAUSE NO PARTS IN PDX. A DRAIN LINE WAS INSTALLED TO A DRAIN CAN.
