Narrative:

Gave us crossing restr 10 mi south fwa approximately 80 DME south. While at 33000 ft started down early so I wouldn't forget. However, during the slow lengthy descent the lead flight attendant came up and asked us about the airphones, and we also got frequency change with no alarm from controller we might be high at the crossing. Soon as we contacted ZAU he asked what our crossing restr was. By that time we had missed the crossing by 4000 ft. I guess I started down so soon that I got occupied with other things and just forgot! No excuses and no conflicts.
