Narrative:

We were given a SID for departure from lax. Unfortunately we had the wrong SID on board, therefore we flew the wrong SID. We flew runway heading whereas the new SID said to turn left to a heading of 200 degrees, at the santa monica 154 degree radial. SLI3.sli is the new SID that went into effect on jun/xa/96. Why didn't I have the new SID on board? My normal base for my airline is ontario where I hold a reserve line. Since I am on reserve, I fly out of other stations quite often. Therefore, the first thing I do when I get to another station is check the current revisions since I am unable to get to my mailbox. The computer (via flight control) had the current revision as #23. Unfortunately the current revision is actually #24. Also, #24 revisions were not yet disseminated into the palm springs mail boxes (where I started my morning trip). Also, the flight dispatch form which includes our clearance filed by flight control had the old SLI2.sli SID. Next time I better listen to the clearance a little better when talking to clearance delivery. If I paid more attention I would have heard seal beach 3, seal beach transition rather than seal beach 2, seal beach transition.

Title: A BA32 RESERVE CAPT FLEW THE WRONG DEP HDG AFTER FAILING TO RECOGNIZE THAT A NEW SID WAS IN EFFECT. THE SID REVISION WAS IN THE RPTR'S MAILBOX AT HIS BASE, BUT HE HAD BEEN ASSIGNED TO ORIGINATE THE TRIP FROM ANOTHER ARPT.

Narrative: WE WERE GIVEN A SID FOR DEP FROM LAX. UNFORTUNATELY WE HAD THE WRONG SID ON BOARD, THEREFORE WE FLEW THE WRONG SID. WE FLEW RWY HDG WHEREAS THE NEW SID SAID TO TURN L TO A HDG OF 200 DEGS, AT THE SANTA MONICA 154 DEG RADIAL. THEREFORE, THE FIRST THING I DO WHEN I GET TO ANOTHER STATION IS CHK THE CURRENT REVISIONS SINCE I AM UNABLE TO GET TO MY MAILBOX. THE COMPUTER (VIA FLT CTL) HAD THE CURRENT REVISION AS #23. UNFORTUNATELY THE CURRENT REVISION IS ACTUALLY #24. ALSO, #24 REVISIONS WERE NOT YET DISSEMINATED INTO THE PALM SPRINGS MAIL BOXES (WHERE I STARTED MY MORNING TRIP). ALSO, THE FLT DISPATCH FORM WHICH INCLUDES OUR CLRNC FILED BY FLT CTL HAD THE OLD SLI2.SLI SID. NEXT TIME I BETTER LISTEN TO THE CLRNC A LITTLE BETTER WHEN TALKING TO CLRNC DELIVERY. IF I PAID MORE ATTN I WOULD HAVE HEARD SEAL BEACH 3, SEAL BEACH TRANSITION RATHER THAN SEAL BEACH 2, SEAL BEACH TRANSITION.
