Narrative:
After takeoff, following a B777, reported 5 mi separation, experienced rapid roll to right at approximately 300-400 ft, requiring aileron and rudder to return to wings level. Wind was calm. MD80 aircraft was flaps 6 degrees and within 5000 pounds of maximum gross takeoff weight. Subsequent climb normal.

Narrative: AFTER TKOF, FOLLOWING A B777, RPTED 5 MI SEPARATION, EXPERIENCED RAPID ROLL TO R AT APPROX 300-400 FT, REQUIRING AILERON AND RUDDER TO RETURN TO WINGS LEVEL. WIND WAS CALM. MD80 ACFT WAS FLAPS 6 DEGS AND WITHIN 5000 LBS OF MAX GROSS TKOF WT. SUBSEQUENT CLB NORMAL.
