Narrative:

Flying inbound to the colts neck VOR (306 degree radial) approximately 1-2 mi northwest of suziq intersection, new york approach control transmits a message to us informing that we 'missed the turn' and to fly heading 070 degrees. First officer's and my instruments confirmed on course, not yet to crossing of col 306 degree radial and yardley 083 degree radial. Upon further questioning, ATC controller stated we were '4 mi south of fix.' we executed turn, landed lga without further incident. Upon arrival at gate lga, performed VOR vot check both navigation receivers, both checked normal.

Title: AN N90 APCH CTLR HAD TO CORRECT AN ACR LGT'S COURSE CLOSE IN TO LGA. FLC CLAIMS TO NOT HAVE CROSSED THE FIX AT WHICH POINT A TURN WOULD BE MADE.

FO'S AND MY INSTS CONFIRMED ON COURSE, NOT YET TO XING OF COL 306 DEG RADIAL AND YARDLEY 083 DEG RADIAL. UPON FURTHER QUESTIONING, ATC CTLR STATED WE WERE '4 MI S OF FIX.' WE EXECUTED TURN, LANDED LGA WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. UPON ARR AT GATE LGA, PERFORMED VOR VOT CHK BOTH NAV RECEIVERS, BOTH CHKED NORMAL.
