Narrative:

In cruise at FL350, approximately 5 NM past sso, phoenix center issued clearance to cross itemm at FL280 then continue at pilot's discretion to FL240. First officer calculated descent point of approximately 55 DME. At approximately 45 DME, captain noticed a hydraulic quantity at 2.3 gallons and began discussing whether a leak might be occurring. Took note of time (XA43C) and quantity. Attention diverted from DME until approximately 65 DME, simultaneously started descent as ATC queried about altitude. Crossed itemm approximately FL330. No conflict. ATC made no comment except continue descent to FL240. Follow up call to ZAB revealed no traffic conflict. Hydraulic quantity did not decrease further, hydraulic quantity svced normally at phx.

Title: THE FLC CROSSED ITEMM INTXN AT FL330 INSTEAD OF AT OR BELOW FL280 AS WAS ASSIGNED BY ARTCC.

Narrative: IN CRUISE AT FL350, APPROX 5 NM PAST SSO, PHOENIX CTR ISSUED CLRNC TO CROSS ITEMM AT FL280 THEN CONTINUE AT PLT'S DISCRETION TO FL240. FO CALCULATED DSCNT POINT OF APPROX 55 DME. AT APPROX 45 DME, CAPT NOTICED A HYD QUANTITY AT 2.3 GALLONS AND BEGAN DISCUSSING WHETHER A LEAK MIGHT BE OCCURRING. TOOK NOTE OF TIME (XA43C) AND QUANTITY. ATTN DIVERTED FROM DME UNTIL APPROX 65 DME, SIMULTANEOUSLY STARTED DSCNT AS ATC QUERIED ABOUT ALT. CROSSED ITEMM APPROX FL330. NO CONFLICT. ATC MADE NO COMMENT EXCEPT CONTINUE DSCNT TO FL240. FOLLOW UP CALL TO ZAB REVEALED NO TFC CONFLICT. HYD QUANTITY DID NOT DECREASE FURTHER, HYD QUANTITY SVCED NORMALLY AT PHX.
