Narrative:

We were cleared to taxi from spot X to runway 36R via taxiway south. Lots of WX and delays in the area so frequency was very congested. We taxied down taxiway south and turned on taxiway S5 to taxiway T just like everyone else. Ground control yelled at us once we got to taxiway T that we should have held short of taxiway S5. We were under the impression that if we were cleared to runway 36R we were cleared to taxi there unless a specific hold short instruction had been given, as long as we did not cross runway 36R. More specific taxi instructions should be required at busy airports.
