Narrative:

Before takeoff at ind, tower advised me of a right turn to 120 degrees. After rotating from runway 32 I started my r-hand turn to 120 degrees. Upon rolling out of 120 degrees the tower questioned my assigned heading and at that point I realized my heading indicato right had stuck for a moment and no longer was providing accurate heading information. I immediately turned from my south heading to the correct heading. The cause of the problem was fixation on one instrument, not xchking with the compass or outside references.
