Narrative:

During departure from dfw we were WX rerted to ardmore VOR with the VOR as a clearance limit. Approaching ardmore and nearing the assigned altitude of FL250 the captain elected to hand fly the aircraft while I worked on obtaining further clearance from center. During the radio exchange the captain was inadvertently distracted and went through the assigned altitude by 200 ft and before any corrective action could be taken center called with further clearance to FL270. Supplemental information from acn 331607: we were approaching ardmore VOR. I asked the first officer to get a further clearance. I hand flew FL250 to FL252. Center never commented on our altitude.

APCHING ARDMORE AND NEARING THE ASSIGNED ALT OF FL250 THE CAPT ELECTED TO HAND FLY THE ACFT WHILE I WORKED ON OBTAINING FURTHER CLRNC FROM CTR. DURING THE RADIO EXCHANGE THE CAPT WAS INADVERTENTLY DISTRACTED AND WENT THROUGH THE ASSIGNED ALT BY 200 FT AND BEFORE ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION COULD BE TAKEN CTR CALLED WITH FURTHER CLRNC TO FL270.
