Narrative:

Upon retracting my landing gear on takeoff (out of uca) I heard a loud 'thump' on the right side of the airplane. I did not receive a gear up indication. I tried cycling the gear to the down position and nothing occurred. After repositioning the gear handle in the up position, I checked the light bulbs and circuit breaker. The circuit breaker had popped. I pushed it in and the load meters pegged. Right away, I pulled the circuit breaker out, but still smelled something very hot. I proceeded with the emergency gear extension checklist, but found the crank to be slipping when I rotated it in a counterclockwise manner. After circling uca and talking on a company frequency, I continued with a gear up landing checklist. I chose to try the crank one more time, this time finding it to engage. I cranked the gear down until I received a green light and a pointer below the console indicating the gear was down and locked. I then requested a fly-by and tower confirmed the gear looked down. As I landed on runway 27, I felt the weight of the plane settle onto the main wheels. I rolled for approximately 3-5 seconds and the right main collapsed. The airplane slid off the right side of the pavement. My momentum was cushioned by 6 inches of snow. It is my guess that the locking pin broke. Upon retraction, the gear extended further down preventing it from entering the gear well, hence the loud bang. The pin jammed so it was hard to crank the gear down. Upon landing, the stress of the weight caused the scissors to snap. An investigation is underway.

Title: ANALYST WAS UNABLE TO CONTACT THIS RPTR, BUT BELIEVES THAT THE GEAR PROBABLY WAS DAMAGED DURING THE RETRACTION AND MANUAL EXTENSION AS A RESULT OF THE INITIAL MALFUNCTION. THE RPTR USED ALL RESOURCES AVAILABLE, AND IMMEDIATELY TOOK TIME OUT OF THE ISSUE BY THE DECISION TO CIRCLE THE ARPT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RESOLVE THE PROB. AN EMER DECLARATION WAS NOT MENTIONED, BUT WOULD HAVE UNMISTAKABLY CONVEYED THE SERIOUS NATURE OF THE PROB. ACFT EQUIP PROB R MAIN GEAR. RETURN LAND. ACFT DAMAGED. PLT BEHAVIOR RESOURCE UTILIZATION. CHKLIST USE. PLT TECHNIQUE COM WITH COMPANY AND TWR. ATCT LCL CTLR PERCEPTION RESPONSE.

Narrative: UPON RETRACTING MY LNDG GEAR ON TKOF (OUT OF UCA) I HEARD A LOUD 'THUMP' ON THE R SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE. I DID NOT RECEIVE A GEAR UP INDICATION. I TRIED CYCLING THE GEAR TO THE DOWN POS AND NOTHING OCCURRED. AFTER REPOSITIONING THE GEAR HANDLE IN THE UP POS, I CHKED THE LIGHT BULBS AND CIRCUIT BREAKER. THE CIRCUIT BREAKER HAD POPPED. AFTER CIRCLING UCA AND TALKING ON A COMPANY FREQ, I CONTINUED WITH A GEAR UP LNDG CHKLIST. I CHOSE TO TRY THE CRANK ONE MORE TIME, THIS TIME FINDING IT TO ENGAGE. I CRANKED THE GEAR DOWN UNTIL I RECEIVED A GREEN LIGHT AND A POINTER BELOW THE CONSOLE INDICATING THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED. I THEN REQUESTED A FLY-BY AND TWR CONFIRMED THE GEAR LOOKED DOWN. AS I LANDED ON RWY 27, I FELT THE WT OF THE PLANE SETTLE ONTO THE MAIN WHEELS. I ROLLED FOR APPROX 3-5 SECONDS AND THE R MAIN COLLAPSED. THE AIRPLANE SLID OFF THE R SIDE OF THE PAVEMENT. UPON LNDG, THE STRESS OF THE WT CAUSED THE SCISSORS TO SNAP. AN INVESTIGATION IS UNDERWAY.
