ARTCC controller confused data blocks and issued a climb to an air carrier aircraft to an occupied altitude. After commencing the climb, the controller realized the mistake and descended the aircraft to the original altitude, however, separation had already been lost.

Narrative:
Aircraft #1 was at FL290 with traffic of aircraft #2 at FL310. Aircraft #3 was nearby at FL330. I saw the data block of aircraft #3 and climbed aircraft #1 to FL310. I saw aircraft #1 at FL296 and descended him back to FL290 but separation was lost.
