Narrative:

As we descended through approximately 6000 ft MSL, we checked in with travis approach. We had been previously cleared direct ccr VOR and travis gave us a heading northeast and cleared us to descend to 3000 ft and report concord in sight for the visual approach to runway 1L. We told travis we had concord in sight when we were 8 mi northeast of ccr VOR and were cleared for the visual runway 1L. We turned left (sbound) to enter right downwind and continually tried to contact concord tower. Tower was extremely busy and we could not contact them as we continued downwind. At about 5 mi south of concord, concord tower asked if we were on frequency, we said yes, and were told to turn back toward concord and cleared to land runway 1L. After landing tower asked us to call on the telephone. We contacted tower and were given the telephone number for travis approach. Travis informed us that we had entered bay approach's airspace by extending our downwind leg so far south. We were in a shallow descent at about 2500 ft MSL by the time we turned back to concord.

Title: AFTER RELEASE FROM APCH CTLR FOR VISUAL TO CCR RWY 1L, RPTR HAD DIFFICULTY CONTACTING TWR DUE TO CONGESTION OF FREQ. BY CONTINUING TOO FAR ON THE DOWNWIND TRYING TO CONTACT TWR, ACFT ENTERED CLASS B AIRSPACE.

Narrative: AS WE DSNDED THROUGH APPROX 6000 FT MSL, WE CHKED IN WITH TRAVIS APCH. WE HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY CLRED DIRECT CCR VOR AND TRAVIS GAVE US A HEADING NE AND CLRED US TO DSND TO 3000 FT AND RPT CONCORD IN SIGHT FOR THE VISUAL APCH TO RWY 1L. WE TOLD TRAVIS WE HAD CONCORD IN SIGHT WHEN WE WERE 8 MI NE OF CCR VOR AND WERE CLRED FOR THE VISUAL RWY 1L. WE TURNED L (SBOUND) TO ENTER R DOWNWIND AND CONTINUALLY TRIED TO CONTACT CONCORD TWR. TWR WAS EXTREMELY BUSY AND WE COULD NOT CONTACT THEM AS WE CONTINUED DOWNWIND. AT ABOUT 5 MI S OF CONCORD, CONCORD TWR ASKED IF WE WERE ON FREQ, WE SAID YES, AND WERE TOLD TO TURN BACK TOWARD CONCORD AND CLRED TO LAND RWY 1L. AFTER LNDG TWR ASKED US TO CALL ON THE TELEPHONE. WE CONTACTED TWR AND WERE GIVEN THE TELEPHONE NUMBER FOR TRAVIS APCH. TRAVIS INFORMED US THAT WE HAD ENTERED BAY APCH'S AIRSPACE BY EXTENDING OUR DOWNWIND LEG SO FAR S. WE WERE IN A SHALLOW DSCNT AT ABOUT 2500 FT MSL BY THE TIME WE TURNED BACK TO CONCORD.
