Narrative:

While taxiing into ramp in dsm, ground personnel began directing us using wands. I turned light off to signal I was now following his direction. I taxied directly on yellow line, edge of ramp was on right side. I told first officer that truck looked close on left side. I then slowed even more. The first officer said we had room on right side. When I slowed, the marshaller seemed to be looking and slowed his motion, while looking, then speeded up his motion. I continued to move forward slowly. We suddenly felt a vibration and I stopped immediately. People ran toward wingtip then motioned me to continue forward and into parking spot. There were no white lines to let me know if any equipment was within the taxi area. Not even cones or any other markings.
