Narrative:

Question was what was the filed route? I read the route on the computer flight plan. After one frequency change we discovered that the filed route was mgwt 048138, as expected by ATC. After questioning whether we should pick up the 048 degree radial (this was about 80 NM north of mgm) the controller said to maintain present heading (055 degrees at the time) and proceed direct grd, rest as filed. This was for traffic to our left. This was air carrier flight hou-jfk.
