Narrative:

Cleared for visual approach to runway 16R at rno. We were high and instead of turning outbound for altitude loss, the captain just nosed down and in doing so exceeded the 250 KT limit until approximately 6500-7000 ft MSL. Remainder of approach was uneventful. ATC did not mention or notice this. Note: there was an aci in the jump seat who works with the FAA in monterey.

Narrative: CLRED FOR VISUAL APCH TO RWY 16R AT RNO.
