Narrative:

VFR 10000 ft 10 mi north of alb. Lost #2 main dc generator. No incident, did not declare an emergency. Landed at albany. Company operations dictate land at nearest airport. Ferried aircraft from alb to ewr with #2 inverter inoperative. No incidents. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that the AT42's #2 generator would not reset (one reset attempt allowed per checklist and company limitations). The #2 inverter failure was connected to the generator failure. Remaining generator and inverter carried the aircraft's electrical load. It was a clear night and captain was not alarmed, just surprised that the generator would not reset.
