B737 taxiing to runway 11L via taxiway a. Aircraft was instructed to taxi to runway 11L. Aircraft taxied past the approach end, which is at taxiway A4, nearly crossing another active runway. The controller realized the situation in time so as to stop the B737 from crossing runway 21. There is a sign stating 11L/A4/a, and it is noted on charts that A4 is the approach end, yet numerous aircraft taxi past the approach end each week.

Narrative: B737 TAXIING TO RWY 11L VIA TXWY A. ACFT WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAXI TO RWY 11L. ACFT TAXIED PAST THE APCH END, WHICH IS AT TXWY A4, NEARLY XING ANOTHER ACTIVE RWY. THE CTLR REALIZED THE SIT IN TIME SO AS TO STOP THE B737 FROM XING RWY 21. THERE IS A SIGN STATING 11L/A4/A, AND IT IS NOTED ON CHARTS THAT A4 IS THE APCH END, YET NUMEROUS ACFT TAXI PAST THE APCH END EACH WK.
