Narrative:

While departing dca runway 36 in IMC, we crossed into prohibited airspace. Dca tower gave us vectors out of the area. Reason, without a departure route in the FMC the computer gives you a 1000 ft AGL point before turns. The 1000 ft AGL point should be cleared, and a dca/328 degrees/50 mi fix should be entered. Luckily we were able to notice just as we got a vector out of the airspace. Lesson: always double check your flight management computer and make sure you have what is needed to match your routing. Ps: no action was taken.
