Narrative:

On the 7TH leg of the day at XX30 pm we were cleared for a visual approach to runway 10L at cmh, an airport I had been to at night for over 18 months. We had tuned and idented the NDB and localizer for the runway we were cleared to, to confirm we had the correct airport in sight. During the approach we confused ground lights and a second beacon for the airport lights. As we began our turn to base to what we thought was the runway we noticed both the localizer and ADF needles swing. Then noticed we were passing through the final for runway 10L and beginning to pass through the final for runway 10R. During the approach traffic on a visual approach for runway 10R had been pointed out to us and we had kept them in sight the entire time. The other aircraft passed well below us and to our right, never in any kind of conflict. Our altitude was 3000 ft MSL. On reflection, being tired and unfamiliar with the airport, tuning and identing the NDB and localizer was not enough. We should have asked for vector to the final approach course to ensure we were established on the correct course to the correct runway.

Title: DURING A NIGHT OP, FLC OF AN LTT OVERSHOT THE FINAL APCH COURSE DURING A VISUAL APCH. CONFLICT WITH TFC ON FINAL FOR PARALLEL RWY.

Narrative: ON THE 7TH LEG OF THE DAY AT XX30 PM WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 10L AT CMH, AN ARPT I HAD BEEN TO AT NIGHT FOR OVER 18 MONTHS. WE HAD TUNED AND IDENTED THE NDB AND LOC FOR THE RWY WE WERE CLRED TO, TO CONFIRM WE HAD THE CORRECT ARPT IN SIGHT. DURING THE APCH WE CONFUSED GND LIGHTS AND A SECOND BEACON FOR THE ARPT LIGHTS. AS WE BEGAN OUR TURN TO BASE TO WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS THE RWY WE NOTICED BOTH THE LOC AND ADF NEEDLES SWING. THEN NOTICED WE WERE PASSING THROUGH THE FINAL FOR RWY 10L AND BEGINNING TO PASS THROUGH THE FINAL FOR RWY 10R. DURING THE APCH TFC ON A VISUAL APCH FOR RWY 10R HAD BEEN POINTED OUT TO US AND WE HAD KEPT THEM IN SIGHT THE ENTIRE TIME. THE OTHER ACFT PASSED WELL BELOW US AND TO OUR R, NEVER IN ANY KIND OF CONFLICT. OUR ALT WAS 3000 FT MSL. ON REFLECTION, BEING TIRED AND UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT, TUNING AND IDENTING THE NDB AND LOC WAS NOT ENOUGH. WE SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR VECTOR TO THE FINAL APCH COURSE TO ENSURE WE WERE ESTABLISHED ON THE CORRECT COURSE TO THE CORRECT RWY.
