Narrative:

Taxiing to runway 8R in phoenix, we were performing the taxi checklist. At the 'takeoff briefing/bugs' prompt I proceeded to brief the takeoff and departure. I was heads down in the cockpit reading the drake 6 departure instructions. When I looked up I saw the hold short area passing our left side and saw no attempt to slow and/or position ourselves to hold short. We continued straight ahead. So I said 'there's the runway.' brakes applied and full left tiller was inputted by the captain and we proceeded to swing our nose and (1/3 - 1/2) the aircraft beyond the hold line to a stop. Aircraft on short final inquired of tower if we were going to stop and tower queried us as to whether we were going to hold short. I responded that we were holding short. The aircraft on short final landed without incidence as did one other aircraft before we were cleared for takeoff. The captain later told me that this was his fifth day in a row of flying and he was right up to his '30 in 7' regulation. I believe fatigue played a big factor in this occurrence for the captain.

Narrative: TAXIING TO RWY 8R IN PHOENIX, WE WERE PERFORMING THE TAXI CHKLIST. AT THE 'TKOF BRIEFING/BUGS' PROMPT I PROCEEDED TO BRIEF THE TKOF AND DEP. I WAS HEADS DOWN IN THE COCKPIT READING THE DRAKE 6 DEP INSTRUCTIONS. WHEN I LOOKED UP I SAW THE HOLD SHORT AREA PASSING OUR L SIDE AND SAW NO ATTEMPT TO SLOW AND/OR POS OURSELVES TO HOLD SHORT. WE CONTINUED STRAIGHT AHEAD. SO I SAID 'THERE'S THE RWY.' BRAKES APPLIED AND FULL L TILLER WAS INPUTTED BY THE CAPT AND WE PROCEEDED TO SWING OUR NOSE AND (1/3 - 1/2) THE ACFT BEYOND THE HOLD LINE TO A STOP. ACFT ON SHORT FINAL INQUIRED OF TWR IF WE WERE GOING TO STOP AND TWR QUERIED US AS TO WHETHER WE WERE GOING TO HOLD SHORT. I RESPONDED THAT WE WERE HOLDING SHORT. THE ACFT ON SHORT FINAL LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENCE AS DID ONE OTHER ACFT BEFORE WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF. THE CAPT LATER TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS HIS FIFTH DAY IN A ROW OF FLYING AND HE WAS RIGHT UP TO HIS '30 IN 7' REG. I BELIEVE FATIGUE PLAYED A BIG FACTOR IN THIS OCCURRENCE FOR THE CAPT.
