Narrative:

Thunderstorms made a deviation east necessary. ATC would only approve 25 mi east of course due to presence of uncontrolled airspace to east. We had to go 50 mi east of course, which put us in uncontrolled airspace. Communicating our intentions to ATC complicated by having to use HF radio with hong kong radio, not ATC. Supplemental information from acn 317962: large thunderstorms blocked our route of flight on A901. Difficulty in communicating with hong kong acc by HF radio. It was very difficult communicating with hong kong acc through hong kong radio. By the time we got the point across over the distance of our deviation we were beyond the 25 NM. Due to passenger on board this seemed the best course of action instead of injuries.

Title: HDG TRACK POS DEV. B747 FLC DEV AROUND TSTM ACTIVITY IN AN OVERWATER, FOREIGN AIRSPACE OP. SPILLOUT OCCURS INTO UNCTLED AIRSPACE.

Narrative: TSTMS MADE A DEV E NECESSARY. ATC WOULD ONLY APPROVE 25 MI E OF COURSE DUE TO PRESENCE OF UNCTLED AIRSPACE TO E. WE HAD TO GO 50 MI E OF COURSE, WHICH PUT US IN UNCTLED AIRSPACE. COMMUNICATING OUR INTENTIONS TO ATC COMPLICATED BY HAVING TO USE HF RADIO WITH HONG KONG RADIO, NOT ATC. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 317962: LARGE TSTMS BLOCKED OUR RTE OF FLT ON A901. DIFFICULTY IN COMMUNICATING WITH HONG KONG ACC BY HF RADIO. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT COMMUNICATING WITH HONG KONG ACC THROUGH HONG KONG RADIO. BY THE TIME WE GOT THE POINT ACROSS OVER THE DISTANCE OF OUR DEV WE WERE BEYOND THE 25 NM. DUE TO PAX ON BOARD THIS SEEMED THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION INSTEAD OF INJURIES.
