Narrative:

As sunset approached, I was piloting the C172 from jyo to W29 through the VFR corridor. Lack of ground based navaids, unfamiliarity with the hand held GPS and the combination of being unfamiliar with the route and near darkness caused me to get lost and penetrate the bwi class B airspace. One aircraft was observed to pass behind and under us. Upon turning southeast to leave the area, another plane was seen making an evasive maneuver to avoid us. Minimum horizontal separation estimated to be 1 mi. Possible corrective action: mark the VFR corridor 'radar required' or install a VFR only terminal VOR midway through the corridor.
