Narrative:

I was taxiing out to runway 25R on taxiway K at lax. We had switched to tower and had been monitoring the frequency when we were told to 'taxi up to intersection 8 and hold short, be ready to go.' my first officer read back the clearance along with the hold short instructions. As we arrived at intersection 8, I proceeded to start to taxi toward the runway after I had checked to see that final was clear. We had passed approximately 1/2 way over the hold short line when tower quickly said 'taxi into position and hold intersection 8, runway 25R.' there was no conflict that we were aware of. After the shift, my first officer and I discussed the situation in detail and both agreed that fatigue due to long shifts with short turn times were a good part of the contributing factors in this event.

Title: RPTR CROSSES RWY HOLD LINE WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: I WAS TAXIING OUT TO RWY 25R ON TXWY K AT LAX. WE HAD SWITCHED TO TWR AND HAD BEEN MONITORING THE FREQ WHEN WE WERE TOLD TO 'TAXI UP TO INTXN 8 AND HOLD SHORT, BE READY TO GO.' MY FO READ BACK THE CLRNC ALONG WITH THE HOLD SHORT INSTRUCTIONS. AS WE ARRIVED AT INTXN 8, I PROCEEDED TO START TO TAXI TOWARD THE RWY AFTER I HAD CHKED TO SEE THAT FINAL WAS CLR. WE HAD PASSED APPROX 1/2 WAY OVER THE HOLD SHORT LINE WHEN TWR QUICKLY SAID 'TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD INTXN 8, RWY 25R.' THERE WAS NO CONFLICT THAT WE WERE AWARE OF. AFTER THE SHIFT, MY FO AND I DISCUSSED THE SIT IN DETAIL AND BOTH AGREED THAT FATIGUE DUE TO LONG SHIFTS WITH SHORT TURN TIMES WERE A GOOD PART OF THE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS IN THIS EVENT.
