Narrative:
Approaching lvk at low altitude from byron airport. Decided there would not be time to get ATIS, no need, as was planning to overfly. Unusual tower conversations because airshow was in progress. Received word of airshow right at 5 SM from airport. FSS briefer that morning had been a real bozo and I could not wait to end conversation (sjc was 1700 ft broken 10 mi visibility and he was trying to talk me out of VFR). Also, FSS airspace tape does not include NOTAMS.

Narrative: APCHING LVK AT LOW ALT FROM BYRON ARPT. DECIDED THERE WOULD NOT BE TIME TO GET ATIS, NO NEED, AS WAS PLANNING TO OVERFLY. UNUSUAL TWR CONVERSATIONS BECAUSE AIRSHOW WAS IN PROGRESS. RECEIVED WORD OF AIRSHOW RIGHT AT 5 SM FROM ARPT.
